According to Verkhovna Rada: "It is likely the fires broke out as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, in particular shelling or arson.
According to the classification of emergencies, the area of fires in the Exclusion Zone must not exceed 0.05-0.2 square km. The current area is tenfold greater than these indicators."
Details: Due to the fires, the radiation threat is increasing within a 10-kilometre radius around the Chornobyl nuclear power plant.
