Belarus reports withdrawal of paratroopers from Ukrainian border

According to the Belarusian Defence Ministry, paratroopers of the 38th Separate Brest Guards Airborne Assault Brigade have returned from the Ukrainian border to their permanent base.

Details: Motolko Help, which monitors the movement of Belarusian troops, reported that armoured personnel carriers were moving through Brest, partially blocking traffic in the city.

Background:

• On the morning of 20 March, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said there was a high probability of Belarusian troops being involved in a Russian war against Ukraine. Ukrainska Pravda sources in the security services confirmed this information from Ukrainian intelligence, but gave assurances that the Belarusian military had no experience in combat operations and had low morale. 
• Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, said that Ukrainian defenders would destroy all Belarusian army soldiers crossing the border.
• Self-proclaimed Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has already dragged Belarus into the Russian-Ukrainian war, as he is providing the Russian occupation troops with military facilities located within Belarus.
