Number of victims from Russian missile strike on Podil in Kyiv rises to 8

Rescue workers and medics worked through the night at the site where a Russian shell hit a shopping mall in the Podil district of Kyiv. The number of victims has risen to 8.

Due to extensive destruction and eight victims, Kyiv prosecutors have opened an investigation into last night’s shelling.
It has been established that on the night of 20-21 March 2022, armed forces of the Russian Federation resorted to means of warfare prohibited under international law, carrying out a missile attack on the Podil district of Kyiv.
The shelling and the resulting fire severely damaged a shopping mall. Windows in the surrounding residential buildings and cars parked in the vicinity of the scene have also been damaged.
According to preliminary information, 8 people were killed.
Information regarding the dead and wounded is still being confirmed. Rescuers and law enforcement workers are working on the scene to document the crime.
