A large number of Russian aircraft have flown over Sumy region deep into Ukraine - Head of Regional Military Administration

Dmytro Zhyvytskyy, Head of the Sumy Regional State/Military Administration, has reported that a large number of aircrafts flew over the Sumy Region deep into Ukraine on 20 March.

According to Zhyvytskyy: "… a large number of aircraft from the Russian Federation flew over the Sumy region today (20 March - ed.) deep into Ukraine."

"The artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were operating in the Sumy region today. Part of a convoy of Russian military equipment was destroyed, and this gives us confidence [...]."

"[...] The ultra-modern ‘Black Eagle’ tank has been destroyed. This tank has been hyped up by the Russians who say it is equipped with state-of-the-art protective equipment. [...] This tank was hit with the first shot and was in fact destroyed."

Details: Dmytro Zhyvytskyy also said that the Trostyanets community is currently cut off from the electricity supply. The power supply cable has been broken, and it cannot be repaired due to the aggressors' direct fire.

The Head of the Regional Military Administration also noted that artillery shelling continued in the Sumy region on 20 March.

"The enemy is regrouping. The enemy is receiving reinforcements in the form of new units, sometimes fuel and rations are brought in," Dmytro Zhyvytskyy said.

In addition, the Head of Regional Military Administration briefed on humanitarian aid, which has been delivered to Okhtyrka amongst other settlements.

Zhyvytskyy warned residents of the Sumy region that Russians are grabbing cars that belong to local Ukrainians, disguising themselves in their clothes and "may break through, enter our cities" in such a way. For this reason, the Head of the Regional Military Administration urged residents in the region to report any stolen cars or other property to the police.
