The National Guard has stated that Ukrainian defenders control the town of Rubizhne in the Luhansk region, despite contrary claims of Russian propaganda.

Details: It was said that the police, the National Guard, and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine control all districts of the city and continue to protect the town from Russian offensives.

They requested that people ignore the hostile propaganda claiming that Russian forces entered the city.

According to the press service of the National Guard, on 18 March Russians distributed fake videos on social media in which they had allegedly taken Rubizhne. 

Previously: 

  • On 19 March, a house collapsed due to shelling in Rubizhne. At least 3 people were killed.
  • As a result of Russian shelling in the Luhansk region on 18 March, 4 people were killed, 10 were wounded, and 54 buildings were destroyed.
  • On 18 March, the National Guard destroyed one Russian infantry fighting vehicle near Kreminna and seized several units of vehicles after Russian forces fled.
