No evacuation corridors are planned by the authorities for 16 March, since they have not been confirmed by the Red Cross. However, routes are being developed to deliver humanitarian aid to cities that have been captured or surrounded by Russia.

Direct quote from Vereshchuk: "We have received no response to the proposals we sent to the Red Cross yesterday regarding the opening of humanitarian corridors on 16 March.

The question of the organisation of humanitarian corridors out of Izium and Mariupol remains open. We can’t evacuate people in these conditions.

We will continue to work on developing routes for the delivery of humanitarian aid – food and medicine – to captured or surrounded Ukrainian cities.

These include cities and settlements in Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and Kherson oblasts.

All details of humanitarian corridor routes, any changes to them or the opening of new ones will be announced during the course of the day."

Details: Meanwhile Mayor of Enerhodar Dmytro Orlov said they wanted to evacuate people using their own transport from the city.

He noted that columns had begun forming on Kurchatov St. at 10 am and by 11 am they were moving.

Orlov said the column would move through Dniprorudne, Skelky, Vasylivka, Orikhivskyi and on to Zaporizhzhia. Anyone from other areas who wishes to can join as the column moves along.
