United Nations estimates number of refugees in 3 million
The International Organisation for Migration estimates that the number of Ukrainians who have left the country since the start of the full-scale war has reached 3 million.
According to Agence France-Presse, this was stated by spokesman Paul Dion at a daily UN briefing on March 15.
Of these 3 million, about 1.4 million are children and about 157,000 are citizens of other countries living in Ukraine.
Among Ukraine's neighbours, the main destination remains Poland - almost 1.8 people have crossed the border since February 24 (this figure probably includes those who have transited further into Europe).
As reported, the Czech Republic has already asked the EU to provide modular housing for Ukrainians, as all available housing options are beginning to run out. About 200 thousand Ukrainians have arrived in the Czech Republic.
Warsaw and Krakow have recently announced that they have actually exhausted their capacity to accept new people.
