According to Kim: "The situation is stable. There is fighting on two fronts. There has been shelling of the city. Over the past 24 hours there have been 80 wounded. Two of them are children. There are more fatalities after a school was hit by aerial bombs.
It is calmer today. We have pushed them away from the city a little bit. Our people, I think, are getting used to this condition: bad people are bombing us, but we are just living our lives, planning how to get them out of here and defend our city."
Details: Kim noted that "we can't be 101% sure, but we can be 99% sure" that Mykolaiv will hold off the invaders.
"We have the South Buh River, which has to be crossed in order to move further into the western part of the region and Ukraine. We have a very good position, in terms of bridges. We will not give the bridges to the invaders in any scenario. They will be compelled to make a forced crossing," Kim said of the possibility of the enemy advancing deep into Ukraine.
"We are also taking everything into consideration now. We are planning another line of defence. And we will plan counterattacks," the regional head added.
Kim also stated that he and the mayor of Mykolaiv are receiving text messages to put pressure on them, but are not responding.
Background: On 13 March, Russian aircraft bombed a village school building in the Mykolayiv Region, leaving people trapped under rubble.
