Mariupol confirms humanitarian corridor from the city

Petro Andryushchenko, Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol, talked about the opening of a humanitarian corridor from the city.

According to Andryushchenko: "As of 1 p,m. we have confirmation of de facto observance of the ceasefire in the direction of the humanitarian corridor for private transport along the following route:
Mariupol (departure towards the village of Melekine – the village of Portovske – the village of Mangush – Berdiansk – Zaporizhzhia).
As of now, more than 50 private cars have already passed Berdiansk and are moving to Zaporizhzhia. There are no problems with passing checkpoints."
Details: The advisor added that security in the direction of this corridor cannot be officially guaranteed: "But this is the only corridor that has official approval, and which is actually working today. That is why we are sharing this information, in case you decide to evacuate on your own".
Andryushchenko also provided contact details and information to those who have left and are planning to leave.
All Mariupol residents should report to the circus premises on Rekordna Street, 41, Zaporizhzhia for first aid, accommodation, and further assistance.

Background:
- There is a humanitarian catastrophe in Mariupol. Russian troops are holding the entire city captive and are not allowing humanitarian aid in or evacuation out.
- On 13 March 2022, the City Council of Mariupol announced that 2,187 people were killed in Russian airstrikes in Mariupol.
