Rosatom denies controlling Zaporizhzhia power plant

Rosatom has denied that the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is under its control.

Details: In a telephone conversation with IAEA Director Rafael Grossi, Rosatom CEO Aleksei Likhachev confirmed that there were a "limited number" of Rosatom employees at the Zaporizhzhia power plant, but denied that Rosatom "had taken operational control or that it intended to place the plant under Rosatom’s "management system," according to the IAEA.
Moreover, the Russian Federation is said to have informed the IAEA that the Zaporizhzhia and Chornobyl nuclear power plants are being operated and managed by Ukrainian operational personnel," while Russian experts "provide advisory assistance."
Background: Petro Kotin, head of Energoatom, the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine, said that self-proclaimed representatives of the military-civil administration arrived at the Zaporizhzhia power plant, assembled the management staff and announced that the station was now owned by Rosatom. Later, it was learnt that 11 Rosatom employees had been brought into the Zaporizhzhia power plant.
