Only two people in Russian government support the war, says military intelligence
ROMAN PETRENKO - Saturday,12 March 2022, 14:49
According to information from the Ukrainian Chief Intelligence Directorate, President Vladimir Putin and Minister of Defence Sergei Shoygu are the last Russian statesmen left who support the war.
Source: Kyrylo Budanov - Head of Ukraine’s Chief Intelligence Directorate, speaking to "Ukraina 23"; Oleksiy Arestovych - Advisor to the President.
Details: Ukraine's Chief Intelligence Directorate reports that according to their sources, Putin and Shoygu are the only ones interested in conducting war.
According to Budanov: "At the moment only two individuals are directly expressing a pro-war sentiment. They are Putin and Shoygu. Everyone else is attempting to stop this. Some more actively, some in more clandestine ways by sabotaging the communication of orders down the chain of command. The Russian general staff itself is for the most part against the war."
According to Arestovych: "According to data from our Chief Intelligence Directorate, within the Russian military-political command there are only two people left who express support for continuing the military aggression - they are Putin and Shoygu. We are left to understand that the Russian leadership is fully aware of the consequences of losses and defeats suffered on the ground by the Ukrainian Army and the local resistance, as well as the economic catastrophe caused by the West's collective response.
