Ammunition warehouse on fire in Vasylkiv, shells detonate

After a powerful Russian air strike on the town of Vasylkiv, in the Kyiv region, an ammunition warehouse caught fire; shells are currently detonating.

According to the police: "Powerful air strike on Vasylkiv. Around 7 in the morning on 12 March, Russian forces launched at least 6 rockets on the area of the military airfield. Ammunition warehouse is damaged. Shells are detonating. A fire broke out."
Details: Rescuers are working on the scene, it is reported.
The police are in the process of determining whether the neighbouring houses have been damaged.
There is no information about any victims or wounded so far.
The mayor of Vasylkiv, Natalia Balasynovych, said that 8 Russian rockets were launched on Vasylkiv on the morning of 12 March.
According to Balasynovych: "Today at about 7 in the morning, the enemy forces shelled the city of Vasylkiv. 8 rockets hit the city. The airport was shelled. The airport has been completely destroyed. The runway is destroyed. An ammunition warehouse has been detonated. The ammunition continues detonating, as one of the rockets hit the warehouse. A fuel warehouse was also destroyed. As a result, our airport is entirely out of commission now."
Details: The Mayor urged the residents of Vasylkiv to remain calm and stay put.
She emphasised that the situation is under the control of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
