Russian army deserters flee to the border

The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reports that many Russian soldiers are surrendering and that "small groups of Russian army deserters have been moving towards the national border."

According to the General Staff: "As a result of the hostilities, most units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation that had received direct fire from units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are demoralised. The moral and psychological condition of Russian personnel continues to decline, and we have seen cases of groups of soldiers surrendering.

During the last three days, small groups of enemy deserters have been moving towards the national border."

Background: the Ukrainian army stopped the Russian troops’ advance on several routes along the Donetsk front.
