On 24 February, Global Spirits (brand name "Khortytsa") revoked its licence to produce and distribute its products in the Russian market.
This was reported by Forbes.
The company explained that this was due to Russia's military aggression. It added that product shipments to Russia had been stopped in 2014.
In addition, Global Spirits has shut down operations of its Khortytsa distillery due to a ban on alcohol sales in Ukraine, said supervisory board member Oleksander Chernyak, who is also the son of the head of Global Spirits' supervisory board, Yevhen Chernyak.
According to Oleksandr Chernyak, another Global Spirits company, the Odessa Cognac Factory, is gradually resuming production after its shutdown due to the war. "Odessa Cognac Factory received orders from abroad. The first vehicles have already gone abroad," Chernyak said.
Chernyak added that Global Spirits is also exploring the possibility of relocating several lines of the Khortytsa distillery to Western Ukraine.
The Chernyaks are currently organising humanitarian aid for Ukraine from Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic.
