Investigators of the Prosecutor General’s Office (GPU) came to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) to conduct a search, NABU spokesperson Daria Manzhura told Ukrayinska Pravda.

"They showed a court order specifying that the reason for search is the alleged illegal eavesdropping on phone talks of persons involved in an offense which the NABU is investigating," she explained. So far, no details are provided on what specific investigation is concerned.

The GPU representatives are now talking to NABU Chief Artem Sytnyk. Prosecutor Dmytro Sus arrived in person along with his team. So far, no investigative actions have been taken, she added. No documents have been seized, no officials detained, and no conflicts take place.

The NABU is not allowed to eavesdrop on phone calls. A draft law is registered in the Parliament to enable this authority to eavesdrop by itself. The NABU currently seek the assistance of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) if they have to wiretap an alleged perpetrator.

Dmytro Sus is working in the GPU department on investigating crimes related to the state property and civil service. This department is allegedly associated with MP Kononenko and Hranovskyi, who are allegedly behind the case against ex-Deputy Prosecutor General Vitalii Kasko.
