Ukrainian Authorities Suffered 170 DDoS Attacks In Six Months

During the first half of 2016, the Ukrainian authorities suffered around 170 DDoS attacks, a representative of the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine (SSCIP) told at a press conference to Oleksandr Turchynov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.

"These 170 attacks were a part of broader range of 15,000 information security problems that Ukrainian authorities suffered during the last half a year," the official said. So far, 14 central executive authorities enjoy the protection of the State Center of Cyber Protection, 12 more are awaiting, he added.

"We still have a lot to do in this realm," Turchynov summarized.
