During the summer heat peak, Ukraine requested Russia to provide technical assistance and additional electricity supply, but the country’s authorities refused, Interfax-Ukraine cites the Energy Minister Ihor Nasalyk.
He specified that Ukraine had managed to handle the peak load without coal supplies from the occupied territories or electricity import. He also stressed that over autumn and winter, energy consumption would be lower than during summer heat peaks. Thus, no rolling blackout is planned.
