Government Amends Privatization List
The Government is about to change the list of state-run companies offered for privatization in 2016-2017, the First Deputy Economy Minister Yuliya Kovaliv informed on her Facebook page.
"Initially, we wanted to make 306 companies private. However, now we have to take 102 of them out of this list, because they were either privatized or liquidated or are in the ATO zone in Donbas. At the same time, we added 126 new companies there."
The major companies that are now offered for privatization are Turboatom, Elektrovazhmash, Obiednana Hirnycho-Khimichna Kompaniia [En.: United Mining Chemical Company], Derzhavna Prodovolcho-Zernova Kompaniya [En.: State Food and Grain Company], state-run share of Zaporizzhia Titanium Magnesium Plant, etc.
"In total, we expect 330 companies to go private in 2016-2017," Kovaliv highlighted.
On August 29, President Poroshenko called on the Parliament to extend the list of state-run companies to be sold out to private owners.
It was reported earlier that although the state budget planned to earn ₴17 billion from privatization in 2016, during the first six months the revenues were as low as ₴42 million.
