President Poroshenko has signed a law enabling Ukrainian aircraft builders to cooperate with international partners.

According to the law, they can enter into joint ventures with foreign companies except for those located or operating on the territory of ‘aggressor states’, a list of which is determined by the Parliament.

The law also provides for the extension of government support to the Ukrainian aircraft industry for sales of their products until 2025 through easing of credits (partial re-imbursement of interest).

The law is expected to contribute to ₴5-10 billion investment in the sector and increase sales by 20-25%.

The state-run company Antonov – the major Ukrainian aircraft builder – is considering creating joint ventures with foreign partners for building transport aircraft An-132 and ‘new generation’ aircrafts An-148, 158 and 178. Possible foreign partners include firms from Saudi Arabia, Germany and India.
