Deputy Minister Accused of Accepting Bribe Reinstated by Court

On August 23, the Court of Appeals of Kyiv reversed the decision of a lower court to dismiss Deputy Minister for Health Roman Vasylyshyn as of August 8. This was reported by the Court press office.
The court did not provide the motivation for this decision, the full text of which will be published on August 26.
On July 8, Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv jailed Vasylyshyn as he was suspected of organizing a system of bribes in health facilities and granted him a possibility to be released on ₴3 million bail.
On July 13, he was released. On July 14, the Government suspended him from office and dismissed him several days later.
