Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office Sends Summonses to Russian Leaders
On August 8, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office announced official charges against 18 leading government and military authorities of the Russian Federation, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko informed during a press briefing.
The list of officials includes an advisor to the Russian president, former authorized representative of the Russian president in the so-called ‘Crimean Federal District’, Russian Defense Minister, two Deputy Ministers of Defense and ten other high military officials.
According to Lutsenko, the pretrial investigation has established that every one of these officials has implemented a criminal plan to change the territorial borders of Ukraine, by giving orders to the Russian Armed Forces and controlled representatives in the occupied Crimea and self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk ‘People’s Republics’.
The summonses to participate in investigative actions were delivered to the Russian officials via international courier service and email, along with the official notice of suspicion and information about their rights.
