Militants Shelled Solodke Village from Heavy Artillery
On August 21, illegal military formations from the non-government controlled areas of Donetsk oblast shelled Solodke village of Marinka district of Donetsk oblast for 15 minutes from 122mm artillery, the ATO Staff reports.
The monitoring group of the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) documented the violation of the ceasefire and use of the weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreements by the militants. In particular, they recorded that one of the 122mm shells burst in the yard of a house on Veteraniv Street. Shrapnel damaged the walls, windows and roof of the house, as well as the attached shed.
On the outskirts of the village, the observers detected 11 craters from artillery munitions, some of them much bigger than the others. This allegedly shows that the militants have also used much more powerful munitions, but the remains of projectiles that would prove this were not found.
No civilians were hurt. All facts of the shelling were documented and sent to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission. In addition, the ATO Staff reported a total of 46 incidents of shelling of the positions of the Ukrainian Army on August 21, including from heavy artillery.
