Plotnitsky: Militants Ready to Discuss Prisoner Exchange with Nadiya Savchenko

Head of the self-proclaimed ‘Luhansk People’s Republic’ Igor Plotnitsky said that he was ready to discuss a POW exchange with Batkivshchyna MP and former prisoner Nadiya Savchenko, "if Kyiv authorizes her to do so," RIA Novosti reports.

"Both Alexander Zakharchenko [head of the so-called ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’] and I are ready... to release [POWs]. If they appoint Savchenko, we will talk to Savchenko, if they appoint anyone else, we will talk to anyone else," he said.

On August 8, Nadiya Savchenko participated in the meeting ‘Don’t Leave Your People Behind’, dedicated to the issue of POWs. She said that the process of exchange needs to be accelerated, as it is currently taking several months. She also said that currently there is an agreement to exchange ‘two for two’, but did not give any details.
