Luhansk Militant Freed As Part of ‘Your Loved Ones Are Waiting’ Program

Another militant has been released from criminal responsibility as part of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) ‘Your Loved Ones Are Waiting’ program, the Service’s press service reports.

"Fooled by the Russian propaganda, a citizen of Bilovodsk district of Luhansk oblast in 2014 was aiding the illegal activities of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic (‘LNR’). He realized his mistake very soon, and after that refused further collaboration with the militants. The former participant of the illegal military formation found out about ‘Your Loved Ones Are Waiting’ program and joined it," the statement says.

After completing the necessary procedures, the court exempted the man from criminal responsibility for the crime described in Pt. 2 Art. 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. "The former militant who received this court decision became another example that the SBU program is working. He is asking others to lay down arms and return home," the SBU says.
