Investigation: Poroshenko Associates Awarded Yuzivska Gas Field

Yuzivska field, the largest shale gas field in Ukraine, will be developed by a Netherlands-registered company Yuzgas B.V. which has links to President Poroshenko’s business associates, Nashi Groshi reports.

Yuzgas B.V. was established a month ago specifically to work on the Yuzivska field. It is associated with businessman Yaroslav Kinakh through the investment funds "Emerstone Energy" and "Emerstone Capital Partners". According to Kinakh, the company is working with funds provided by foreign investors, but their names are confidential.

The names of the members of the committee that selected the investor for Yuzivska field were also released with delay. The list includes:

Viktor Nazarkevych, director of Nadra Yuzivska Ltd., which will be a partner of Yuzgas B.V. in this project;

Valeriy Kotsiura, the head of tender department at NJSC Nadry Ukrayiny;

Ihor Nasalyk, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry and former Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP;

Oleh Zhyshko, Deputy Head of Energy and Fuel Sector Development and Investment Policy Department at the Ministry of Energy;

Yuriy Brovchenko, Deputy Minister of Economic Development;

Anatoliy Matviyenko, Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP, member of the budget committee at Verkhovna Rada;

Andriy Lopushanskyi, Petro Poroshenko Bloc MP;

Volodymyr Bandurov, member of the Volia Narodu group in parliament.
