Kyivavtodor Accuses Military Parade Of Destroying Road Surfaces
Asphalt concrete pavement on the roads where a military parade rehearsal is taking place has been massively destroyed, Kyivavtodor [Ed.: the municipal company dealing with roads in Kyiv] claimed on Friday, August 19.
"This night the roads suffer from heavy military equipment. The effort and money invested in road repairs disappeared in vain," the statement reads.
Kyivavtodor stresses that it is the result of ‘negligence and lack of professionalism,’ as heavy military equipment should be transported on special vehicles that protect the pavement. "The only thing we can do is to document these facts and estimate the damage," it states.
This Friday, the military parade scheduled for August 24, Independence Day, was rehearsed in Kyiv.
