Svoboda Featured in Yanukovych’s ‘Black Accounts’ — Party Denies Allegations

The Svoboda Party is featured in the list of cash recipients in the ‘black accounts’ of the Party of Regions, according to documents seen by Ukrayinska Pravda.

The files that Ukrayinska Pravda has access to feature a $200,000 payment made on November 4, 2010 signed by the Party of Regions MP Vitaliy Kaliuzhnyi. The note on the payment says ‘Svoboda (commissions)’.

Head of the Secretariat of the party Oleksandr Myrnyi denied the allegations in a comment to Interfax Ukraine. "I can hardly confirm or deny this information. I don’t know what you are talking about. Whether [Poroshenko Bloc MP and investigative journalist Serhiy] Leshchenko has any [documents] or not, I don’t have them. If Svoboda was financed by some other government or business structure, we would have had many more opportunities to advertise ourselves," he said.
