Court Suspends Pereloma as Chair of Odesa Port Plant

On August 17, Solomyanka District Court of Kyiv satisfied the petition of NABU detectives on suspending Serhiy Pereloma as Chair of the Supervisory Board of Odesa Port Plant (OPZ) by September 14, the NABU press service informed Ukrayinska Pravda.

"We think that this court decision is fair, as suspending him from his position will prevent possible pressure on witnesses, destruction of evidence and obstructing the investigation," the press service cites Chief Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Nazar Kholodnytskyi.

Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv City earlier detained First Deputy Chair of Naftogaz Serhiy Pereloma until September 9 as a pretrial restrictive measure, with the possibility of ₴80 million bail. A Court of Appeals later ruled to release him to house arrest.
