Army Chiefs Preparing Demobilization
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is working on demobilization of servicemen who were conscripted during the so-called ‘sixth wave.’ Major General Volodymyr Talalai of the General Staff said at a briefing on Tuesday, August 16, the official Facebook page of the General Staff reports.
"All the discharged servicemen are taken on priority military reserve. The regional military conscription offices should provide social security to them," he explained.
All the soldiers concerned will be discharged within two months after the respective order is signed by the President and published. "To ensure smooth demobilization and keep combat capacity, various military units will develop step-by-step plans to demobilize their servicemen," Talalai summarized.
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov stated earlier that the government is not planning a ‘seventh wave’ of recruitment, but it could be possible in case of an aggravated situation in Donbas.
