Court Releases First Deputy Chair of Naftogaz Pereloma

Kyiv Court of Appeals released Serhiy Pereloma, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Odesa Port Plant (OPZ) and First Deputy Chair of Naftogaz, who is suspected of embezzlement at OPZ, the Deputy Chief Anti-Corruption Prosecutor Volodymyr Kryvenko told Ukrayinski Novyny.

"The court considered his appeal today, and overruled the decision of the trial court about the detention," he said. By doing so, the Court of Appeals granted the defense motion and released the suspect from prison to house arrest.

Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv City earlier detained First Deputy Chair of Naftogaz Serhiy Pereloma until September 9 as a pretrial restrictive measure, with the possibility of ₴80 million bail.
