‘One-Stop-Shop’ for Customs Launched
A ‘one-stop-shop’ concept was implemented at Ukrainian customs starting Monday, August 1, Ukraine’s Vice-Prime Minister on European and Euroatlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze wrote on her official Facebook page.
She says that the ‘one-stop-shop’ principle considerably increases the speed of foreign trade operations: now the authorities have only 4 hours to make their decision. If the decision is not made, the principle of ‘silent consent’ applies, which means the system automatically records that necessary steps were performed.
Moreover, the ‘one-stop-shop’ concept decreases the expenses for businesses, as customs clearance will be less time-consuming. It also helps to prevent corruption. Finally, it provides for more efficient resource management, because all state control bodies will review the goods simultaneously.
