Court Orders Expert Assessment of ‘Lyovochkina Island’
Obukhivskyi District Court of Kyivska Oblast requested to conduct expert assessment of the island of MP Yulia Lyovochkina near Kozynka River in Kyivska Oblast in a case initiated by the prosecutor’s office, Nashi Groshi cites the court decision.
The prosecutor’s office requested to solicit Lyovochkina’s land plot of 3.24 hectares on the bank of Kozynka River. Before the consideration of the case, Lyovochkina’s attorney filed a petition to carry out land expert assessment to identify whether this land plot is an island or part of water resources.
The prosecutor’s office is concerned that such expert assessment may postpone the consideration of case and prevent the court from issuing a proper decision. However, the court decided to order such an assessment to find out whether the land plot belongs to water resources.
Lyovochkina acquired this property in 2014 after the Maidan events to build a residential house and maintenance buildings.
The bridge connects this island to the river bank where another Lyovochkina estate is constructed.
In September 2014, the State Agricultural Inspection established that the allocation of a land plot on the island to Yulia Lyovochkina – sister of Yanukovych-era Head of the Presidential Administration Serhiy Lyovochkin – was illegal. The prosecutor’s office is inspecting the legality of the island development.
