Four suspects in the case of the ‘Mukacheve shootings’ will remain in pretrial detention for at least 60 more days, the court ruled on July 9, Mukachevo.net reports.

The request of the defense lawyers to change pre-trial detention to ‘house arrest’ for two of the four Pravyi Sektor fighters has not been satisfied. The next preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for July 15.

On July 11, 2015 there was an armed conflict in Mukacheve after a meeting of representatives of Pravyi Sektor and MP Mykhailo Lanio. According to Ukrayinska Pravda, the conflict happened due to the difficulties in the relationship between Lanio and another MP, Viktor Baloha, regarding control over smuggling. The General Prosecutor claims that the suspects also committed a series of other crimes in Lviv and Zakarpattia oblasts in 2014–2015.
