Yulia Tymoshenko Announces New Opposition Alliance

The leader of the Batkivshchyna faction in the Verkhovna Rada Yulia Tymoshenko announced that the opposition will unite against the government, she said in the corridors of parliament on July 7.

Tymoshenko’s united opposition includes Batkivshchyna, the Radical Party, as well as parties headed by MPs Dobrodomov and Derevyanko. She says that Samopomich has not joined them yet, but negotiation is underway.

Tymoshenko said that the current authorities have started a ‘terror’ against the Ukrainian people. She also added that the members of the opposition feel pressure from NABU and the Prosecutor General’s Office, which she labeled ‘the signs of return to Yanukovych times’.
