Russia intends to stimulate the development of the internationally unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (also known as Transnistria), but is not ready to provide financing, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said during a visit to Tiraspol, Ukrinform reports.
Moscow is planning to provide the pro-Russia breakaway region with about 30 million rubles (about $465,000) for the development of irrigation systems. There are also plans for defense contracts with a number of companies in the region. "We are not giving you fish, we are teaching you to fish. It is time for new steps in our relationship," Rogozin said.
