Ukraine Renews Coal Supply from Occupied Territories
Ukraine renewed coal supplies from the occupied territories via railways after a near-two-month break, the ATO Staff press office reports on its Facebook page.
"A total of 43 cars loaded with coal arrived to Government-controlled territory after a break that lasted almost two months," it informs. It was reported earlier that cargo rail traffic from Nikitovka to Maiorsk stopped on June 1.
On June 5, this railroad track was damaged by heavy shelling. On July 13, the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk conducted talks on the renewal of railroad traffic on this track. The parties agreed to repair the track.
On July 27, Ukrainian railroad workers tested the renovated track and approved it for use. So far, only 30% of the traffic capacity is used. The remainder is more difficult to repair, because it suffered more severe damage.
