No Major Incidents Reported during ‘Cross Procession’
National Guard officers who provided security during the Cross Procession of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate stopped four members of volunteer battalion ‘Sich’ from penetrating the prayer service on July 27, the press office of the National Guard informed.
"In general, no incidents took place during the Cross Procession and prayer service. Several attempted provocations were stopped. The National Guard officers detained four members of the ‘Sich’ battalion who tried to penetrate the prayer service," the press office reported.
A total of 1,500 National Guard officers were engaged into security provision. In addition, police used drones for the first time. According to police, around 9,000 pilgrims took part in the Cross Procession after a prayer service in Kyiv.
