‘European Quality’ Road Repair for Kyiv to Cost ₴1 Billion This Year
A total of ₴1.05 billion ($42 million) will be spent on road repair in Kyiv in 2016. City officials promise to deliver European quality, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on air on Kyiv TV Channel.
"This year, we increased the budget for road repair to ₴1.05 billion. The roads on 51 streets are going to be reconstructed. Kyivavtodor [Ukr: Kyiv Auto Roads] makes a 5-year quality warranty," he stated.
According to Klitschko, in August Kyivavtodor will start capital repair of Odeska Square in the south of Kyiv, and a total of 188 secondary roads will be repaired in the capital city this year.
Moreover, the municipal government is about to launch restrictions on lorries in Kyiv, because heavy trucks destroy the roads in the city.
