Civic Activists Ask to Bring Toretsk Mayor to Account for Separatism
The citizens of Toretsk (former Dzerzhynsk) in Donetsk oblast asked the Head of National Police in Donetsk oblast Vyacheslav Abroskin to look into the activities of a group of people including the mayor of Toretsk who, in their opinion, were involved in the occupation of the city by militants in 2014.
The citizens addressed Abroskin with the official appeal during his working trip to Toretsk. They attached video evidence from 2014 featuring the mayor.
"In our opinion, these individuals took active part in anti-Ukrainian activities and infringed the territorial integrity of the country. We think that in order for our country to be united, we need to bring those to account, who are responsible for catalyzing the events and who became the reason that the war is currently happening in the eastern part of our country," one of the Toretsk civic activists Andriy Hrudkin said.
Abroskin ensured that the appeal will be registered and the facts outlined in it will be investigated.
