Five Hundred Azov Activists Join Miners in ‘Anti-Tariff’ Protest in Kyiv

Over five hundred activists of the ‘Civic Corps of Azov,’ trade unions and miners marched from the Cabinet of Ministers building to the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry in Kyiv demanding to reduce utility rates.

Ukrayinski Novyny reports that the protesters also request to pay salaries to miners and not to shut down mines.

The traffic on several streets in Kyiv downtown was blocked off.

The protesters demanded a meeting with top management of the Energy Ministry.

According to Ukrayinski Novyny, Economy Minister Stepan Kubiv agreed to talk to the protesters.

The meeting is peaceful.
