Kyiv City Court of Appeals allowed MPs to post bail for the former Head of Staff of Aidar battalion Valentyn ‘Batia’ Lykholit. Lykholit has promised to take part the upcoming proceedings.

Bail was requested by the lawyers of the defendant. The prosecutor in the case said he does not object to bail due to having discovered that the defendant has awards from the President.

The MPs who provided written assurances for the bail are Semen Semenchenko and Yehor Soboliev of Samopomich and Ihor Mosiychuk and Andriy Lozovyi of the Radical Party.

The previous decision of the court was to jail Lykholit for two months prior to the main hearing in his case. Activists prevented his transfer from the courtroom after fighting between them and law enforcement broke out.
