In occupied Horlivka, a group of militants together with the head of the company that manages electricity systems created by the authorities of the ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’, seized a building that belongs to Ukrainian state-owned energy company Ukrenergo on June 30, Ukrenergo reports.

"We have the unofficial information that the building was seized to fulfil the orders of the occupation authorities to nationalize energy assets that are the property of Ukraine. On July 1, the employees of Donbas Energy System were prevented from accessing their workplaces. There are armed people in the building who are making it impossible to fulfil the orders of the legitimate management."

The company reports that engineers are being made to write statements asking to become employees of the new company created by the separatists and fulfil the orders of the new management.

"This is a blatant violation of the Minsk Agreements, the laws of Ukraine, and the rights of its citizens," the company representatives say. They add that replacing qualified professionals who were managing highly complex processes with people who are not prepared for this job endangers the stable work of the energy system of Ukraine, and the reliable supply of energy to people in the occupied areas of Donbas.
