First Deputy Chief of State Labor Service Detained for Bribe-Taking
The Prosecutor General’s Office and State Security Service detained the First Deputy Chief of the State Labor Service Mykhailo Bardonov on taking a ₴100 thousand ($4 thousand) bribe, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko is cited by his press secretary Larysa Sargan on Facebook. The money has been seized.
The search was also conducted in the house of State Labor Service Chief Roman Cherneha, along with nine other searches in this case. Cherneha stated to Ukrayinska Pravda: "The investigation should clarify all the details, and those guilty should be prosecuted. I have zero tolerance for corruption, so I provide all necessary assistance to the investigation."
According to the SBU press office, Bardonov "extorted ₴100 thousand bribes from a private company for running its activities on a monthly basis."
During the search at his house, law enforcement officers seized $153 thousand, six luxury watches and jewelry. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
