Cabinet of Ministers Dismisses Chief Sanitary Doctor Accused of Bribery

The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed the Chief Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Sviatoslav Protas, who is suspected of bribery, the government’s website reports.
Protas was detained by the NABU and police on June 30 when he was cashing a first tranche of money he embezzled. Interior Minister Avakov informed on that day that a group of state officials headed by Protas had "developed and implemented a criminal scheme for embezzlement of large amounts of state funding."
They were detained while the very first tranche worth ₴400 thousand ($16 thousand) has been converted into cash.

On July 2, Solomianskyi District Court of Kyiv released him from custody on ₴413 thousand ($16.5 thousand) bail.
