Finance Minister: State Fiscal Service Has Discredited Itself

Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk explained why the State Fiscal Service (SFS) blocked VAT refunds in a comment to Ekonomichna Pravda.

"The State Fiscal Service has frozen all VAT refunds, although in fact it needed to check only separate cases where there was suspicion of misuse. This misuse must have happened with the involvement of the SFS itself, so freezing refunds could have been a way to buy time to change the records in the register, as eventually they named a smaller amount than at the beginning," Danyliuk said.

The Minister added: "This whole situation with VAT refunds shows, once again, that the SFS has completely discredited itself."
