Ukraine’s Ministry of Economy suggests to continue sanctions to counter Russia’s food import ban extension until late 2017, Interfax-Ukraine [ed.: the text of this hyperlink is in the Russian language] cites Natalia Mykolska, Deputy Minister of Economy. "We are about to table this proposal with the Government and discuss possible options," she said.
The Russian import ban for Ukrainian goods has been effective since January 1, 2016. Ukraine countered this with banning the import of Russian food and nonfood items, the total of which equals the value of Ukrainian aggregate imports banned in Russia.
