Lutsenko Fires Mykolaiv Oblast Prosecutor

On June 24, Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko discharged Vyacheslav Kryvovyaz, Mykolaiv Oblast Prosecutor, from his duties. This was reported by Lutsenko’s press-office [ed.: the text of this hyperlink is in the Ukrainian language].
He also initiated internal investigation of alleged illegal actions of Kryvovyaz. These actions were taken upon President Poroshenko’s request to dismiss chiefs of Mykolaiv Oblast law enforcement after a high-profile corruption scandal involving Deputy Governor Mykola Romanchuk.
Lutsenko requested Kryvovyaz to resign by himself by June 17, which he hesitated to fulfil.
