NABU Chief: Bureau Finishes Investigating Kyoto Funds

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has finished the investigation of a criminal case regarding the embezzlement of public funds received under the Kyoto Protocol, Director of the NABU Artem Sytnyk said on 5 Kanal on June 24.

He said that the investigation could have finished earlier if there were no leaks of information regarding the plans to investigate this case. Sytnyk added that a number of people were arrested and detained, and some will be going on trial soon.

In May, NABU detectives arrested the state procurement committee secretary of the state-owned company Ukrayinski Ekolohichni Investytsii [Ukr: Ukrainiain Environmental Investment] on suspicion of the attempted embezzlement of ₴480 million received under the Kyoto Protocol.

On June 2, NABU arrested another suspect.

Действительно, кто бы мог подумать, что во время борьбы с коррупцией будут возникать сложности) Коррупционеры же сами должны были, от одного вида НАБУ, бежать и сдаваться. И своих партнеров тоже сдавать с трепетом и восторгом)
