SBU Expels Russian Colonel from JCCC
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has uncovered actions of the Chief of Staff of the Russian mission at the Joint Center on Control and Coordination (JCCC) on issues related to the ceasefire regime that are contrary to the Minsk agreements, the SBU press service reports.
According to the Security Service, Russian colonel Vladimir Cheban forwarded the monthly schedules and routes of flights of the OSCE special monitoring mission to the DNR. Based on this information, the militants were able to hide their firing positions, and location of heavy weapons and equipment from the international observers.
The colonel has also been involved in falsifying evidence of violations of Minsk agreements by the Ukrainian side during his time in the JCCC, the SBU claims. The SBU deported him from Ukraine and banned him from entering the country for five years.
The SBU uploaded a recording of conversations between Colonel Cheban and call sign "Yakub" of the DNR [this video is in the Russian and Ukrainian languages]. This is not the first occasion when Russian representatives at the JCCC have been shown by the SBU to be actively taking the side of the militants.
