The Ukrainian State Security Service (SBU) caught a diplomat of Russian Consulate General in Kharkiv attempting to bribe a Ukrainian police officer, the SBU press office reports.

The Russian diplomat offered $400 for driving licenses for himself and another foreign consular officer. After being detained, he identified himself as a diplomat of Russian Consulate General and showed his diplomatic passport and accreditation card.

"Considering his diplomatic immunity, he was allowed to leave the scene. The decision to declare him persona non grata is under consideration", the SBU informs.
